# How to Disable Virtualization (VT-x / AMD-V) (optional)

### ✅ Steps for Most Systems <a href="#steps-for-most-systems" id="steps-for-most-systems"></a>

1. **Restart your PC**.
2. **Enter BIOS/UEFI Setup**:
   * Press one of these keys repeatedly during startup:
     * `DEL` / `F2` / `ESC` / `F10` (depends on manufacturer)
3. **Navigate to the CPU/Advanced/Processor tab**.
4. **Look for virtualization settings**:
   * Intel: **Intel VT-x**, **Intel Virtualization Technology**
   * AMD: **SVM Mode**, **AMD-V**
5. **Set it to Disabled**.
6. **Save & Exit**:
   * Press `F10` or navigate to **Save & Exit**, then confirm.
